PEVL Safety Rating: How to Protect Your Business<\/h2>\n

Every owner or operator of heavy vehicles (PEVL) registered with the Commission des transports du Qu\u00e9bec (CTQ) receives a safety rating<\/strong>: satisfactory<\/strong>, conditional<\/strong> or unsatisfactory<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The PEVL record<\/h2>\n

The SAAQ monitors the conduct of each business: offences committed by drivers and by the business, collisions, and vehicles being put out of service. When a threshold for the size of the fleet is reached, the file may be forwarded to the CTQ.<\/p>\n

The consequences<\/h2>\n

The CTQ may summon the business to a hearing and impose conditions, or even an unsatisfactory rating, which prohibits the operation of heavy vehicles. For a transport company, its livelihood is at stake.<\/p>\n
