I believe there is a mistake on my ticket
It happens more often than you think. A statement of offence is written quickly, often at the roadside, and it may contain errors: wrong date or time, incorrect plate or licence number, wrong section of the law, poorly described location, incomplete name of the defendant, missing signature or mandatory mention.
Not all errors carry the same weight. A simple typo will often be corrected by the court, but an error affecting an essential element of the offence (the identity of the driver, the offence charged, the evidence supporting it) can lead to the dismissal of the ticket or to a favourable negotiation with the prosecutor.
That is why our lawyers review every ticket in detail and request disclosure of the evidence (police report, photos, radar data, calibration certificates, etc.) before the hearing. The weaknesses of a file are often found in that evidence.
Have a doubt about your ticket? Scan it or send it to us: our lawyers will tell you what can be done.
